Russell Brand has admitted that he continues to have strong feelings for Katy Perry - 5 months after he announced the end of their marriage.

The comedian says Katy, 27, is 'beautiful' to him and that he feels a lot of 'positivity' towards the singer. 

'I still love her as a human being,' Russell, 36, tells US TV host Ellen DeGeneres.

'But sometimes when you're in a relationship, I suppose it doesn't work out, does it?

'But that doesn't mean I regret it or anything.

'I was very happy to be married to her.'

Russell this week unfollowed Katy on Twitter - shortly after snaps emerged of her with reported new boyfriend, Florence And The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd.

Katy's dad Keith Hudson recently suggested her hectic schedule prevented her marriage to Russell from working.

'Her career got really busy,' said Keith.

'She did not get to see that much of Russell - it was just one of those things.'
