Royal correspondent Penny Junor's book reveals Prince William's emergency brain surgery

Prince William married Kate Middleton last April

In her book Prince William: Born To Be King, royal correspondent - and friend of Prince Charles - Penny Junor has unearthed many secrets about the young Prince William.

She reveals that William was rushed to a specialist brain unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital after being hit on the head with a golf club when he was eight.

Tests showed that he had a depressed fracture of the skull and he underwent an operation to relieve the pressure on his brain.

He was left with a small mark that he's dubbed his 'Harry Potter scar'.
