'Alex Cross' Images: Including the Craziest Picture of Matthew Fox We've Ever Seen

Matthew Fox is set to join Edward Norton and Linda Hamilton on the list of actors who got totally ripped in preparation for a role judging by these new stills from the upcoming Alex Cross. Seriously â€" that can’t be the same guy who played Jack Shephard on Lost, can it?

Fox is all buffed up for a major part in Alex Cross, where he’ll star opposite Tyler Perry and Edward Burns. The film is a quasi-reboot of the movie series based on James Patterson’s novels, with Perry taking over the title role formerly played by Morgan Freeman.

Rob Cohen (XXX) is set to direct, with Perry and Fox being joined by Jean Reno, Giancarlo Esposito, and Rachel Nichols. The film, which shares a title with one of the books in the series, finds Cross hunting down Fox’s MMA assassin who murdered Cross’ wife.

We’re not really sure what to make of this one. The presence of Reno and Esposito intrigues us, but Cohen’s films tend to be forgettable at best. It’s hard to shake the feeling of “run of the mill thriller” after reading the plot synopsis for Alex Cross, but maybe the film will surprise us. One thing we do know is this: we need Fox’s trainer’s phone number now.
