Zayn Malik is getting used to seeing embarrassing picture of himself in newspapers and magazines - but it's tough.

'I saw one where I must have jumped off a step and my whole face had dropped. It didn't even look like me,' Zayn, 19, tells us.

'I had to look at it six or seven times to see if it really was me.

'I was wondering if they'd done something to the picture. It was horrible.

'I hated it!'

Being a member of One Direction is madness, and Zayn isn't the same teenager he was a year ago.

'I think I've changed, but in a good way,' he explains.

'Before The X Factor I wasn't as confident.

'I mean, I wouldn't have been able to do this interview and I wouldn't have been able to speak to you properly because I'd just be really shy.

'But now I find it really easy to speak to people.'
